KERRVILLE, Texas â€" Texas Lutheran turned a late 12-point deficit into a one possession game with less than 30 seconds to play, but a late turnover with TLU holding the ball down three proved too much for the Bulldogs to overcome in a 77-72 road loss Friday to Schreiner.

At the brand new Schreiner Athletic Event Center, the Bulldogs dropped a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game for the first time under new head coach, and former Schreiner head coach,
Jimmy Smith.

Kouremetis made eight of 15 shots and six of his 11 three-point attempts. He added six rebounds.
Â
Senior forward
Donte McGee (Victoria/Memorial/Texas A&M-Kingsville) and freshman forward

Â
The game was tied 33-33 at the half, but Schreiner seized control mid-way through the second half.
Â
TLU turned Schreiner turnovers and missed free throws into a close game late. The Bulldogs had the ball with a chance to tie on a three-pointer after a pair of missed Schreiner free throws with 31 seconds to play.
