SAN ANTONIO â€" The Texas Lutheran men's soccer team battled tough on the road, but ended up falling 1-0 to No. 4-ranked Trinity on Monday night.

The loss dropped the Bulldogs' record to 3-4-1 on the year and 1-3-1 in SCAC play. It was also TLU's third straight loss, with all three defeats coming by just a one-goal margin.

The Bulldogs battled the Tigers to a scoreless standstill through the game's first 30 minutes, but the tie was broken in the 31st minute. Trinity's Emmanuel Raranje notched the goal that put the Tigers ahead 1-0. The score was assisted by Goncalo Santana and Simon Uribe.

Texas Lutheran finished the game with 13 shots and four shots on goal. All four shots on goal came in the second half as the Bulldogs tried to find a way to scratch their way back even on the scoreboard. Trinity ended the game with 22 shots and 10 shots on goal.

Jonathan Michael kept the Bulldogs in the game. Michael (Coppell, Texas) finished with nine saves, tying a season high.

Alejandro Martinez (Round Rock, Texas) led the team with five shots and three shots on goal.
David Ching (Keller, Texas) was right behind Martinez, tallying four shots for the game.

Texas Lutheran came out in the second half strong, looking for the equalizer. The Bulldogs put up four shots in the opening 20 minutes of the half, including three from Ching, but couldn't beat the Trinity keeper.

The Bulldogs will finish off a four-game road trip next week with away matches against Austin College and the University of the Dallas. They take on the 'Roos at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 before facing off against the Crusaders at noon on Sunday Oct. 5.
