KERRVILLE, Texas â€" The Texas Lutheran softball team outscored Schreiner 25-2 and finished off a four-game sweep of the Mountaineers with two more wins on Saturday at Mountaineer Field.

The Bulldogs' offense continued the hot streak it started last night, rolling to 12-1 and 13-1 blowouts on Saturday to complete the four-game sweep and extend TLU's winning streak to seven games.

The two wins improve the Bulldogs' record to 25-7 and 17-1 in the SCAC. They are now four games ahead of Trinity in the loss column with just four conference games remaining.Â

In the four games against Schreiner, Texas Lutheran outscored the Mountaineers 62-11, scoring at least 12 runs in all four games.

In the first game Saturday, the Bulldogs scored 11 runs in the final three innings to blow the game wide open.

After taking a 2-0 lead into the fifth, the Bulldogs started the inning with a leadoff home run from
Heather Hummel. The Bulldogs would go on to score four more in the inning to break open a 7-0 lead.

The rest of the TLU damage came in the seventh inning with the Bulldogs notching six more runs on four hits. A big blow came when Hummel (Houston, Texas) blasted her second homer of the game. This one was a three-run blast. The two homers were her first of her TLU career.

The offense finished the game with 13 hits. Along with Hummel's production, the Bulldogs got a big day from
Maegan Taylor (Helotes, Texas). The sophomore went 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. She blasted her second homer of the season, giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead in the second inning.

Samantha Yenne (Lake Jackson, Texas) went the distance for the Bulldogs in the circle, improving to 6-2 with the effort. The freshman gave up just one run on two hits and two walks while striking out five.

The Bulldogs continued their offensive dominance in the series finale, scoring all 12 of their runs in the first four innings, scoring at least twice in each of those frames.

Again, the long ball was part of TLU's arsenal. This time, it was
Taylor Yancey who left the yard, blasting a two-run homer in the second inning to open up a 6-0 lead for the Bulldogs. It was Yancey's (Magnolia, Texas) team-leading fifth home run of the year and second of the series.

The sophomore finished the game1-for-3 with the two RBI. She finished the series 10-for-16 (.625) with two homers, four doubles, 13 RBI and four runs scored.

Taylor continued her good day, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs in the second game Saturday. She finished the series 7-for-10 with six RBI and six runs.

Amanda Lochte (Fredericksburg, Texas) earned the win in the circle, tossing four innings and allowing just one run on four hits. The freshman improved to 5-1 with the win.

There is just one more conference series remaining for Texas Lutheran. The Bulldogs will come home next weekend for a four-game set against Centenary. The two teams will play doubleheaders at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 11 and noon the next day.

Texas Lutheran will formerly dedicate the new Theos Morck Field at Ed Kruse Stadium on Saturday. There will be a brief pregame program to honor both Ed Kruse and Theos Morck.
