Texas State stomps past Texas Lutheran 72-31 in exhibition

SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Texas State closed out a non-conference victory over Texas Lutheran with a 39-5 run that produced a 72-31 final score Wednesday in Strahan Coliseum.
 
The game counted as an exhibition game for TLU and as a regular-season win for Texas State. The Bobcats improved to 4-1 overall.
 
TLU trailed 30-18 at the half and closed within seven two times early in the second half before Texas State went on its game-changing run.
 
TLU was held without a made field goal over the final 14 minutes, 7 seconds.
 
The Bulldogs finished the night with a shooting percentage of .244. TLU made 10 of 41 shots.
 
Texas State made an even 50 percent from the floor. The Bobcats hit 24 of 48 total attempts.
 
Josh Sanchez led TLU with nine points on 3-of-4 shooting. Garrett Wilkins added six points. Zach Behr grabbed a team-high four rebounds.
 
Emani Gant scored 18 to lead the Bobcats in scoring.
