SAN ANTONIO â€" The Texas Lutheran women's soccer team held Trinity without a goal in the second half, but three first-half goals proved to be the difference in the Bulldogs' 3-0 loss on Sunday in the final of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The loss ended an exciting season for the Bulldogs. It was a season that saw them finish second in the conference, winning six of their final eight games on the year. They finished the season 10-9-1 overall and 8-4 in the SCAC.

The Bulldogs can come away from the tournament final with their heads held high, having held the No.3-ranked Tigers scoreless in the final 45 minutes of play.

The Tigers earned the automatic bid in the NCAA Division III Tournament with the win. They go into the tournament with a 20-0-1 record.

The first goal came in the seventh minute, when Kelsey Falcone broke through to score a goal assisted by Shelby Hopkins. The Tigers would get two more goals in the opening 20 minutes of play.

Maggie Olvera scored in the 15th minute, while Colleen Markey scored in the 20th.

After that though, the Bulldogs, thanks to some strong goalkeeping, were able to hold the Tigers off the scoreboard.

Erin Rose (San Antonio, Texas) got the start in net for TLU and played the first half. The sophomore allowed the three goals, but also made four saves. Senior
Devin Crump (Texas City, Texas) played her final game in a TLU uniform and was all over the place, making nine saves and keeping the Tigers off the board in the second half.

The Bulldogs were out shot 34-0 for the game, with Trinity notching 16 shots on goal.
