CEDAR HILL, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Basketball won its fourth game in its last five contests with a 61-45 road win Saturday over Northwood (Texas).
At Nutting Arena on the campus of Trinity Christian High School, TLU made just two three-pointers and only 34.5 percent of its total shots. But the Bulldogs made life on offense difficult for the Knights. Northwood missed all 19 of its three-point attempts and shot 13-for-56 (23.2 percent) from the floor.
TLU, a member of the NCAA Division III, improved to 5-3 overall. Northwood, a member of the NAIA, dropped to 7-3.
TLU swept both games of the season series with Northwood. The Bulldogs collected an 84-61 win over Northwood on Nov. 30 in Seguin.

Karisa Cantu led all scorers with 20. The San Antonio MacArthur product made seven of her 10 shots and six of her eight free throws. Cantu added three assists and three rebounds.

Savannah Hight (San Antonio/Brandeis) and
Kristen Lye (San Antonio/Clark) contributed seven and six points, respectively. Lye grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, and Hight recorded six rebounds.
TLU led by 19 in the first half before a 12-3 Northwood run at the end of the half cut the lead down to 10.
Northwood had the TLU lead down to seven with 17:11 to play in the game, but the Bulldogs went on a 20-8 run to stop the threat. Cantu scored all 12 of her second-half points in the Bulldog spurt.
Bianca Casas (Edinburg/Edinburg) nailed a three-pointer for TLU with 2:35 to play. The three gave the Bulldogs another 19-point lead.
The Bulldogs return to Seguin for a Dec. 28 home game against Dallas Christian. Game time is set for 2 p.m. in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium. TLU will have live video and stats for the game on tlubulldogs.com.
