SAN ANTONIO â€" The Texas Lutheran volleyball team ended its season on Saturday with a 3-0 loss to Colorado College in the third-place match in the SCAC Volleyball Championship hosted by Trinity University.
 
The Bulldogs (17-12, 7-7 SCAC) just couldn't find their rhythm during the 25-19, 25-18, 25-15 loss to the No. 11-ranked Tigers. The Bulldogs came into the tournament as the fourth seed while Colorado College was the second seed. The Tigers were upset in the semifinals by Southwestern.
 
The Colorado College defense enjoyed a good day, holding the Bulldogs to .081 hitting while the Tigers hit .231. The Tigers also held a 5-4 advantage in blocks and a 4-2 advantage in service aces.
 
No Bulldogs ended the evening with double-digit kills. 
Vanecia Spencer (Grandview, Texas) was the closest, tallying nine kills on .200 hitting.
 
Junior 
Megan Lee (Universal City, Texas) led the team with 23 digs while senior 
Manda Martin (Burnet, Texas) produced 23 assists. Martin notched another double-double, her second of the tournament, by tallying 10 digs to go along with the assists.
 
Slow starts doomed Texas Lutheran throughout the match. In the first set, the Bulldogs got down 10-3. In the second, they fell behind 8-1. In the final set, the Tigers jumped out to a 4-1 lead, but the Bulldogs battled back to take a 5-4 advantage before an 11-4 run gave Colorado College a 15-9 lead.
