KEENE, Texas â€" The Texas Lutheran men's basketball team outrebounded Southwestern Adventist by 16 on its way to grabbing its first road win of the season in a 97-83 victory against the Knights on Saturday.

With the convincing win, the Bulldogs got back up to .500 on the year, evening their record at 2-2. The win was also their second win on the road in the last two seasons after finishing last year 1-8 in road battles.

The Bulldogs were dominant on the glass, out-rebounding the Knights 50-34 and 20-11 on the offensive glass. Leading the charge for the Bulldogs in the rebounding department was senior
Troy Griffith (San Antonio, Texas). The forward notched a career-high 14 rebounds while also tallying his first career double-double by scoring 12 points. His previous career-high rebounding mark was eight.

Robert Watson Jr. (Corpus Christi, Texas) also tallied a career-high, pouring in 25 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting night from the field. He was also 3-of-4 from the three-point line and 4-of-8 from the free throw stripe.

As a team the Bulldogs shot 50.7% from the field while holding the Knights to just 35.5%.

The margin of victory would have been larger if not for a 12-of-26 performance from three-point land from the Knights. They also got to the line 30 times, making 27 of those attempts.

Texas Lutheran is back in action the day before Thanksgiving, Tuesday, Nov. 26. The Bulldogs play host to Huston-Tillotson in a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
