EDINBURG, Texas -- The University of Texas at Pan American opened up a 23-point lead over Texas Lutheran at the half and cruised to an 80-37 non-conference win Tuesday at the UTPA Fieldhouse.
UTPA, a member of the NCAA Division I, improved to 2-1. TLU, a member of the NCAA Division III, dropped to 1-2.
TLU shot 18.9 percent (10-for-53) from the field and 17.6 percent (3-for-17) from the three-point line.

Bianca Casas (Edinburg/Edinburg) played in her hometown and led TLU in scoring, with nine. She added four steals, two assists and two rebounds.

Savannah Hight (San Antonio/Brandeis) and sophomore forward
Taylor Dydalewicz (Dripping Springs/Lake Travis) each scored six for the Bulldogs.

Kristen Lye (San Antonio/Clark) pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
KaeLynn Boyde paced the Broncs with 12 points. Jasmine Thompson added 10 points and seven rebounds.
TLU returns to action on Saturday with another road game. The Bulldogs travel to Keene, Texas for a 7 p.m. game against Southwestern Adventist. The women play the first game of a TLU-Southwestern Adventist doubleheader. The men's game tips at 9 p.m.
