Biography

2021: João Lucas Maia (Brasília/American School of Brasília) is a junior midfielder for Texas Lutheran.

2020-21: Maia was named to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll for the first time as a Bulldog. Played in six games and made three starts as a midfielder.

2019: Maia made his Bulldog debut on 9/20/19 against Colorado College. He played in 16 games. Recorded his only assist of the year in a 3-0 win over Schreiner in Kerrville.

At the American School of Brasilia, he was a two-time MVP for the soccer team and a two-time MVP for the futsal team.

Personal: His parents are Joao and Fernanda. He is majoring in communications and psychology.
