SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's track and field team will send nine qualifiers and two alternates to the 2026 NCAA Division-III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin, from May 21-24.
Sophomore Braylen Brown (San Antonio/Randolph) is set to compete in his second consecutive NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship after earning All-American status in the 400m dash in 2025. Brown qualifies yet again in the event, entering the event ranked 20th in NCAA Division-III with a time of 47.22 seconds from last week's Trinity Last Chane Meet.
Parker Cabra (Schertz/Randolph) and Amir McClain (Converse/Veterans Memorial) both qualified for the NCAA National Championships for the first time in their respective careers with Cabra competing in the high jump and McClain competing in the triple jump. Cabra enters the championships ranked ninth in the nation in the high jump with a mark of 2.09m (6' 10.25") from the 2026 SCAC Championships while McClain has sat near the top of the national triple jump leaderboard for a majority of the season with a TLU and SCAC record mark of 15.18m (49' 9.75") also set at the 2026 SCAC Championships.
After narrowly missing qualification last season, the TLU relay team returns to the national stage in 2026, qualifying in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays after a dominant season on the track. Rickey Franks (Rockport/Rockport-Fulton), Eden Perez (Hebbronville/Hebbronville), Tavion Parrish (Kyle/Johnson), and Hezekiah McDow (Goliad/Weiss) will represent the Bulldogs in the 4x100m relay. Franks returns to the National Championships after competing as a member of the 2024 4x100m relay team that qualified for the national championships. The 4x400m relay squad comprised of sophomores Braylen Brown, Eden Perez, Gavino Ramirez (Alice/Alice), and Caden Keller (McAllen/McAllen) continue to add to their impressive resumes as the record breaking quartet qualify for the NCAA Championships as a group for the first time. The 4x100m relay team enters with a season-best time of 40.74 seconds, ranking 15th nationally while the Bulldogs were the final entry in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:12:07.
Sophomore Terry Barnes (San Marcos/San Marcos) and freshman Derrick Thomas (Converse/East Central) will travel as alternates for the Bulldogs.
The 4x400m relay team will open on Thursday, May 21, at 6:15 PM in the prelims. The meet will be streamed on ncaa.com.
