SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's track and field program continued competition at the 2025 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships on Saturday at Bulldog Stadium on the campus of Texas Lutheran University. Texas Lutheran sits in fourth place in the women's standings with 47 points behind meet leader McMurry, who leads with 77.5 points. Saturday featured event finals in jumps, throws, and distance competition while sprint events had preliminary competition.

Saturday was highlighted by a record-breaking performance from freshman Aliyah Fonseca (Harlingen/Harlingen), who finished second in the 3000m steeplechase with a program record time of 11:58.08 in just her second time competing in the event. The time breaks a 13-year old program record previously held by Chelsea Johnson who set the previous record of 12:12.03 in 2012.

Julissa Rodriguez (Deer Park/Deer Park) and Kenna Kubenka (Hallettsville/Hallettsville) added points to the Bulldogs team total with fourth and seventh place finishes in the hammer throw with Rodriguez leading Texas Lutheran with a mark of 44.13m (144-9.00). Ciarah Garcia (Pleasanton/Pleasanton) added five points with her fourth place finish in the triple jump with a final mark of 10.69m (35-0.75).

Taylor Norrell (Lake Jackson/Brazosport) qualified for Sunday's finals in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.31 seconds.

Katie Kostelnik (Hallettsville/Sacred Heart Catholic) will represent Texas Lutheran in the 400m dash after qualifying for the finals with a time of 59.83 seconds.

Natalie Garcia (McAllen/McAllen) would be the final qualifier in the 100m dash with a prelims time of 12.44 seconds while Kamilah Tanner (Killeen/Robert M. Shoemaker) was the final qualifier in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.71.

The Bulldogs continue their pursuit of a SCAC title on Sunday in Seguin, with the day's starting gun set to fire at 8 AM. The meet will be streamed on FloSports. All streaming and live stats links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
