SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran throwers highlighted Texas Lutheran's day one performances at the 2025 SCAC Championships on Friday at Bulldog Stadium on the campus of Texas Lutheran University. Texas Lutheran currently sits in second place with 27 points following Friday's field event heavy opening day of competition. McMurry leads in the standings with 28 points.

Julissa Rodriguez (Deer Park/Deer Park), the 2022 and 2024 SCAC Championship Female Athlete of the Meet, finished second in the shot put with a mark of 13.01m (42-8.25) and fourth in the javelin throw with a mark of 31.54m (103-6.00).

Kirsten Smith (Yoakum/Yoakum) finished third in the javelin throw with a mark of 32.25m (105-10.00) while finishing sixth in the shot put with a mark of 11.47m (37-7.50).
