LAKE WHITNEY, Texas -- Freshman Belle Asbury (San Antonio/Davenport) continues her streak of success through her first collegiate season as she is tied for ninth after round one of the 2025 SCAC Championship Tournament on Sunday, April 13 at White Bluff Golf Resort in Lake Whitney, Texas.
TLU ranks fourth as a squad after round one at 75-over par. Trinity currently leads the tournament at 38-over par after 18 holes.
Asbury has finished in the top ten in four tournaments so far this season. Asbury stayed true to form on the first day with six pars and a birdie in the first 18 holes.
The rest of the squad stood more in a pack, as they posted a 90-93-94 respectfully. Jordyn Ponewash (Flatonia/Flatonia) put herself second on the squad with a 90, as she tied for 16th at the tournament. Following her was Jacqueline Springs (Seguin/Navarro) who posted a 93 (+21) and is tied for 23rd.
Rounding out the scores for the Bulldogs is Mireia Bustamante (Austin/McNeil) as she put together a three-par outing and is currently in 25th.
The Bulldogs head into day two looking to make some ground up as they tee off tomorrow morning at White Bluff. The tournament is being streamed on FloSports. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
