SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran track and field competed in the Trinity Invitational hosted by Trinity University over the course of two days in San Antonio in a meet that hosted nearly 700 athletes from all three levels of the NCAA as well as NAIA and JUCO athletes.

Taylor Norrell (Lake Jackson/Brazosport) finished sixth overall and second amongst Division-III competitors in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.88 seconds. Sage Bartlett (Buda/Johnson) clocked a time of 1:08.52 to finish fifth in the 400m hurdles.

Mikayla Kidney (San Antonio/San Antonio Patriots) finished 11th overall and seventh amongst Division-III competitors in the 100m dash with a time of 12.76 seconds. Katie Kostelnik (Hallettsville/Sacred Heart Catholic) finished seventh overall and fifth amongst D3 sprinters in the 400m dash with a time of 58.86 seconds.

The Texas Lutheran 4x100m relay team comprised of Norrell, Natalie Garcia (McAllen/McAllen), Ciarah Garcia (Pleasanton/Pleasanton), and Kidney finished fifth with a time of 49.66 seconds.

In throws, Julissa Rodriguez (Deer Park/Deer Park), last week's SCAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week, finished fifth in the javelin throw with a mark of 31.05m (101' 10") and eighth overall and fifth amongst Division-III throwers in the hammer throw with a mark of 43.46m (142' 7"), and tenth overall in the shot put with a mark of 11.25m (36' 11"). Kirsten Smith (Yoakum/Yoakum) finished sixth overall and second amongst Division-III throwers in the discus throw with a mark of 35.46m (116' 4").
