Norrell Breaks Her Own Record as TLU Competes at LSU Twilight

BATON ROUGE, LA -- The Texas Lutheran women's track and field team competed in the LSU Twilight Friday at Carl Maddox Field House at Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. TLU would be one of three Division-III teams competing in the meet.

For the second year in a row, Taylor Norrell (Lake Jackson/Brazosport) stole the show at the LSU Twilight. Norrell was the only Division-III representative in the 60m hurdle finals that also featured Division-I as well as Olympic level talent and she would take advantage of the stage by breaking her own 60m hurdle record with a new record time of 9.17 seconds to finish in sixth place.

The Texas Lutheran 4x400m relay team comprised of Katie Kostelnik (Hallettsville/Sacred Heart Catholic), Hazel BowmanKamilah Tanner (Killeen/Robert M. Shoemaker), and Sage Bartlett (Buda/Johnson) finished second with a season-best time of 4:16.76.

Mikayla Kidney (San Antonio, Texas/San Antonio Patriots), Katie Kostelnik, Natalie Garcia (McAllen/McAllen), and Kamilah Tanner all finished in the top ten in the 200m dash with Kidney leading the way with a time of 27.36 seconds to finish sixth.
