Haass Wins 60M Hurdles as TLU Opens Indoor Season

NORMAN, OK -- The Texas Lutheran men's track and field team opened its indoor season Friday at the Owen Hewett Invitational at University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. The meet was mostly comprised of Division-I and Division-II teams with Hardin-Simmons, LeTourneau, St. Thomas, and Texas Lutheran representing Division-III.

Garrett Haass (La Vernia/La Vernia) opened his 2025 campaign by winning the open section of the 60m hurdles with a personal record time of 8.41 seconds. Parker Cabra (Schertz/Randolph) finished fifth in the 60m hurdles in the invite portion, clocking in at 8.51 seconds.

Wyatt Wilson (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) finished sixth in the 200m invite with a time of 23.59 seconds.

Ezra Acero (San Antonio/Harlan) finished sixth in the pole vault as the only Division-III competitor in the field with a mark of 4.70m (15'5"), starting his season in the top 15 nationally in Division-III in the event.
