Asbury Finishes Tenth as Bulldogs Wrap SCAC Preview

LAKE WHITNEY, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's golf team earned a seventh place finish at the 2024 SCAC Fall Preview on Tuesday at White Bluff Resort in Lake Whitney, Texas.

The Bulldogs closed the event with a round of 383 with a 36-hole total of 793, 217-over par. Southwestern won the event with a 665 tally, St. Thomas was second with a team score of 666 at the par-72 course.

Southwestern University's Ryleigh Erickson posted a five-over total of 149 to claim first-place - winning the event by 11 strokes.

Freshman Belle Asbury (San Antonio/Davenport) finished in a tie for tenth overall with a 30-over par total of 174.

Senior Jacqueline Springs (Seguin/Navarro) joined Asbury in the top 25, tying for 25th with a 44-over par total of 188. Sophomore Jordyn Ponewash (Flatonia/Flatonia) climbed one spot on the leaderboard to finish 36th at 55-over par.

Freshman Peighton Guillory (Atascocita/Atascocita) finished in 41st place at 88-over par.

TLU returns to the course October 7-8 at the Alamo City Classic. The event, hosted by Trinity University, will be played at Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas.
