SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Head Men's Soccer Coach Eddie Salazar and his coaching staff welcomed a record tying number of Bulldogs, 39, to this year's start of preseason camp.
The Bulldogs checked-in on Wednesday and have been in preseason workouts at TLU's Gustafson Field since that time.
"We returned 22 guys and had 17 incoming," said Salazar, who is in his 16th season as TLU's head men's soccer coach. "We are very excited to evaluate our incoming freshman. So far, I have been very impressed with our guy's commitment over the summer."
"I have been a part of some special seasons, as a player and coach for Texas Lutheran University. This season has raised my excitement level. Our supporters have blown me away, with their generosity and support. Their efforts raised funds for a new scoreboard and ad wall. Our behind the scenes team has built an online store that is amazing, coupled with our social media presence. We have had some big wins off the field this year, now it's time to match the off the field intensity, with on the field performance."
TLU's home-opener is set for tonight- August 19,2021 - with an 7 p.m. developmental match at Gustafson Field with the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
When asked what we can expect from the team this year, Coach Salazar's response was simple, "Don't blink because your gonna miss the fireworks!"
