BROWNWOOD, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs scored four second-half goals - three from All-American
Luis Green and one from
Santiago Quinonez - in a 4-0 non-conference road win Friday over Howard Payne.
The Bulldogs pushed their overall record to 2-1. HPU dropped to 0-3.
Luis Green, TLU's sophomore All-American, put the Bulldogs in front with a goal in the 53rd minute. He put TLU up 2-0 with a goal in the 68th minute with an assist from
Marco Roman.
Quinonez, a true freshman, notched the first goal of his TLU soccer career with a shot in the 79th minute
Green added his third goal in the 88th minute with an assist from
Cole Welker.
TLU out-shot HPU 22-6 and led in shots on goal 12-3.
The Bulldogs continue their non-conference road trip with a Saturday match at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. The match is set for a 4 p.m. start.
