SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Soccer cruised to a 3-0 conference home win Friday night against Centenary at Gustafson Field.
The Bulldogs out-shot Centenary 29-7 and picked up goals from
David Ching,
Brice Collier and
Agustin Cueva.
Cole Welker and
Braulio Adam assisted on the Ching and Collier goals, respectively.
The senior Ching, scoring on Senior Night, drove a hard shot into the left corner of the net in the 26th minute.
Collier took a long pass from Adam, side-stepped the keeper, and scored into the empty net in the 57th minute.
Cueva knocked home the final goal for TLU in the 88th minute. He took a loose ball and drilled a shot into the right side of the net from about 18 yards.
The Bulldogs improved to 3-7-2 overall and to 2-5-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Centenary fell to 2-8-2 overall and to 1-6-1 in the SCAC.
Ching and fellow senior
Alejandro Martinez were honored in a post-match ceremony for their dedication to the TLU Men's Soccer program. Ching and Martinez are finishing up their final years of playing eligibility. Both are four-year lettermen for the Bulldogs.
TLU wraps up his home soccer season this Sunday with a 2 p.m. match against Austin College. TLU will have live video and live stats for both ends of the Bulldog Soccer doubleheader against the Kangaroos.
