IRVING, Texas-- First half goals provided the University of Dallas Crusaders a 3-2 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory Friday over the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs.ÂÂ
UD advanced to a 11-2-2 overall mark and 9-1-2 in the SCAC.ÂÂ
TLU fell to 5-9-2 overall and 4-7-1 in the SCAC.
The Crusaders took an early lead in the first half with two goals by Andrew Ciancone in the 6th and 20th minutes. Hunter Haugland added another goal in the 32nd minute, leading 3-0 into the half.ÂÂ
TLU's
Brice Collier (Missouri City/ Ridge Point) countered back with a goal in 60th minute for the Bulldogs. The goal was assisted by a far left pass from
David Ching (Keller/ Keller Central).
Ching scored a late second goal for TLU in the 89th minute with assist from
Alejandro Martinez (Round Rock/ Stony Point).ÂÂ
Brendan Soto (Georgetown/ East View) made three saves in goal for the Bulldogs. UD Keeper Sean Carlin collected four saves.ÂÂ
TLU returned to conference action on Sunday with a 12 p.m. road match at Colorado College, in Colorado Springs, Colo.ÂÂ
