SEGUIN, Texas --
Isaac Lopez's penalty kick in the 21st minute proved to be the game-winner for Texas Lutheran as the Bulldogs defeated University of Dallas 1-0 Friday night at Gustafson Field.
Lopez and the Bulldogs improved to 6-1-0 overall and to 3-1-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Dallas fell to 3-4-1 and to 2-1-1 in the SCAC.
TLU played the final 24 minutes, 41 seconds with only 10 men after defender
Nathan Drouillard picked up a red card for a high tackle.
The Bulldogs' received a huge save in the final minute from 6-foot-4 senior keeper
Jonathan Michael, who made a full-stretch save on a shot to his left.
Michael came up with six saves and recorded the shutout.
TLU out-shot Dallas 17-12, but Dallas had the slight edge in shots on goal, six to five. The Bulldogs took eight corner kicks to Dallas' four.
Despite being down a man for nearly 25 minutes in the second half, TLU managed to out-shoot Dallas in the second half, 9-7.
