SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran and Schreiner played to a 0-0 draw Sunday night at TLU's Gustafson Field.
The Bulldogs and Mountaineers battled for 120 minutes but remained scoreless for the duration.
TLU saw its record go to 8-7-1 overall and to 5-7-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Schreiner's record now stands at 6-9-1 overall and 4-7-1 in the SCAC.
Schreiner secured the sixth and final spot for the upcoming SCAC Championship with the tie.
TLU sits in fifth in the SCAC standings but still has a shot at the No. 4 seed. The Bulldogs conclude the SCAC regular season with an 8 p.m. Friday road match against Southwestern.
TLU had a great scoring chance in the first overtime with a corner kick from
Isaac Lopez that led to a header from
Lalo Ramirez. Schreiner keeper Blake Lawson made the save on the Ramirez shot - an attempt that first appeared on its way to the back of the net.
Lawson came up with six total saves for Schreiner. TLU keeper
Jonathan Michael added six saves.
TLU held a slight edge in total shots, 18-17. Shots on goal were even at six.
The Bulldogs, playing in their final home match of the season, recognized their 10 seniors in a ceremony at the conclusion of the match. Ramirez, Lopez, Michael,
